Good news, delayed
We need to take a moment.
Hi everyone, we were planning to release our big end of year retrospective this week but to be honest, we’re still reeling from the Bondi shooting. Fix The News is based in Australia, and a number of friends and their kids were caught up in the attack (thankfully they are all okay). Violence is never the answer, and the last 48 hours have been a powerful reminder that ‘the news’ isn’t just dots on a screen. It’s real, human, and we need to take a beat to honour that.
In this moment, compiling a recap of all the hidden stories of progress from 2025 doesn’t feel appropriate or even possible. We’re going to delay publication until the period between Christmas and New Year. Thanks in advance for your understanding and please give your loved ones a squeeze. We’ll see you before the end of the year when we’ll have better news, we promise.

I wish I could say that I cannot imagine what you are facing, but mass shootings are a fact of life in the US.
I know that Australia will approach this horror with a humanity and urgency that is absent in America.
